got questions?

Does one or more of these questions apply to you?

  • Do you feel increasingly irrelevant at work, at home, or community?
  • Are you tired of doing the same thing and getting the same results?
  • Things in my world are changing quickly, and I feel like an outsider. Am I too old to feel like an integral part of things again?
  • How will I make it here (or elsewhere) until retirement age?
  • How can I grow and evolve personally and professionally?
  • Are you afraid to say or do the wrong thing for fear of feeling accused, threatened, or like a target?
  • Do you feel invisible?
  • Are you afraid or paralyzed because you don’t know what to do and fear doing the wrong thing?
  • What’s in it for me with this talk about diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging?
  • Do you feel like you’re missing something? Being passed by? Judged for ”not getting it? And afraid or embarrassed to ask for fear of further judgment?
  • Do you feel blame, shame, or guilt for being White or a White male?
  • Do you want to be a better leader in these complex times but need help figuring out how?
  • Why do younger generations not share the same work mentality, i.e., we’re here to work, not socialize, or why don’t they honor the chain of command or hierarchy?
  • What is bringing your whole self to work, why would people want to do that, and why is it an employer’s responsibility to enable it?
  • Why can’t people just come to the office? I’d feel more comfortable seeing them working vs. trusting they’re working when out of sight.
  • What are these new pronouns, and why do people insist on using them today? Doesn’t “they” connote more than one person?
  • People working remotely challenge what I’m used to (command and control). Am I too old to learn new ways to communicate, lead, and trust people?
  • When I hear “diversity and inclusion,” the concept of “race,” comes to mind, isn’t it more than that?

Questions to consider about you and your role:

  • Is legacy important to you, and if so, what legacy do you want to leave?
  • What do you value? How important is it to value the people in front of you and what they value?
  • Are your work, thoughts, and behavior aligned with your values?
  • Are you willing to work to help yourself, others, and your organization thrive?
  • Do you want help working through one or more of these questions?
